Dallington Community Garden
This distinctive timber structure was designed as a landmark for the Dallington Pollinators Community Garden Group to help educate the community on stormwater management and water reuse. The sloping metal roof directs rain water to three different stormwater retention devices – an underground cistern with a hand pump, a rain bench, and a CISTA vertical rain garden. The combined capacity of rainwater retention, reused for watering the surrounding native pollinator garden, is close to 900 gallons. The timber structure also acts as a gathering place and provides shade for the community during beautiful summer days.
