B. Arch, OAA, LEED AP
As one of the founding principals of MOSS SUND Architects, Carolyn Moss has been designing, building, researching and lecturing on sustainable design for more than a decade.
A graduate, with Honours, from the Bachelor of Architecture program at Carleton University, Carolyn has taken her scholastic research in environmentally friendly approaches to architecture and built a thriving career around the principles of sustainability. As one of the first in Canada to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation, Carolyn is well-versed in the theory and practice of energy efficiency, green building and alternative approaches to construction.
Prior to the creation of MOSS SUND in 2005, Carolyn was the founder and principal of moss design, where she was involved in more than 50 single and multi-family residential projects throughout Ontario. Projects have incorporated passive solar design, energy efficiency, renewable energy systems, green roofs, feng shui, embodied energy/life cycle costing analyses, and innovative strategies for water conservation and reuse.
Her designs are as unique as the clients she works with, but they all share a similar vision. Carolyn's design aesthetic is modern and smart with clean lines and flexible functionality. Sustainability is a given, but design is key.
